Gases and engineering company BOC has introduced its innovative ICEBITZZZ technology to Mount Gambier making the local Gas & Gear outlet the coolest store in town for dry ice supply.
Mount Gambier Gas & Gear is now operating an ICEBITZZZ Collect service, offering customers high-quality dry ice pellets for their summer cooling needs.
BOC’s Market Manager for Advanced Gas Applications, Deian Jones, said ICEBITZZZ Collect dry ice had a wide range of applications, such as the hospitality and catering sector, the wine industry, temperature controlled transport processes, courier services, camping, boating and more.
“ICEBITZZZ Collect puts convenient, cost-effective, environmentally friendly dry ice at your fingertips,’’ Mr Jones said.
“The Mount Gambier Gas & Gear Store now produces its own dry ice on site for collection, ensuring the highest possible freshness and quality.
“Perfect for small users of dry ice, people can now purchase as little or as much as they like at their convenience,’’ he said.
ICEBITZZZ dry ice is flavourless and odourless, non-poisonous, non-flammable and much colder than water ice. It also produces no residue and requires no on-site electricity.
The Mount Gambier Gas & Gear is located at 40 Graham Rd, Mount Gambier, or call (08) 8725 9011.
What is dry ice? Depending on the pressure and temperature, carbon dioxide (CO2) can occur in three states: gaseous, liquid, or solid. Dry ice is CO2 in its solid state. It is made by reducing the pressure and temperature of liquid CO2 in a controlled manner; this causes it to convert into a clean, white CO2 snow. This snow can be used as is, or it can be compressed under high pressure to form blocks, slices, pellets, or nuggets.
